Dear Friends,

I regret to announce that Caprice Dancing School will not be reopening in 2018.   As you can imagine, this has been a very difficult decision, and one which has been made with much thought. Of course my decision has been made in consultation with Donna and Karen who have also decided to retire from teaching.

Many of you will be feeling shock and sadness at this announcement, and I apologise for that. With school resuming next week there may not be much time for parents to get organised and locate the best place for their children to continue their training elsewhere.

Donna, Karen and I understand this is a very busy time for families. However, we also believe it is in the best interests of the students’ wellbeing and most ethical as teachers, for our families to be afforded the opportunity to make new friends and build relationships with their new teachers from the beginning of the year rather than being expected to find their place in a new dancing school sometime during the year.

It has often been said that the Caprice Dancing School experience has been unique, and I trust your family’s time at Caprice has instilled a love of the performing arts which will be lifelong and brings happy thoughts and memories to mind. Since 1963 thousands of students have walked through our doors and many have gone on to enjoy very successful careers not only in the dance world, but in law, journalism, television, business, government, education and music.

We invite current students and families along with past students to join our  Facebook group “Past Students and Parents CAPRICE DANCING SCHOOL Brisbane”  which will remain operational and we would love you to keep us up to date with your achievements into the future.

Please do not be strangers.  It has been our privilege to be part of your family’s journey.

Yours sincerely,

Sandra
